Feedback from students

"I have enjoyed the Quilt in a Jar. It's a surprise each time with fabrics you may not have brought yourself. Also a great way to learn new techniques on a small scale"                JW

"Friendly staff/teachers and pupils. A fun learning experience. A lot of different courses teaching different techniques

"Quilt as you Go Sampler Block of the Month. I found this course an excellent way of developing my patchwork skills. Each month a new block or two teaches new techniques. Joy is really good at explaining the key points and has plenty of time to give individual help when things don't go quite right. Thoroughly recommend"                                                B.B

"Very enjoyable & informative courses. Joy's knowledge & patience is much appreciated when new techniques are being taught & it's fun as well!!"                                       HFH

"I did the Road Home Block of the Month course. The quilt is beautiful. I enjoyed getting the instructions on a monthly basis rather than all at once because it kept people together and you didn't feel pressure that you may fall behind.               D.H.

"Brilliant facilities. Friendly fun supportive environment"

"I would like to express my sincere thanks to you for all the help and encouragement you gave whilst I attended the classes which I have enjoyed and learnt a lot. I finished my quilt and got lots of wows!"

"Thank you so much for an informative, well designed and enjoyable course. Your knowledge and experience showed up as an inspiration to us as beginners"

"Thanks for your help. It was a really enjoyable day and I look forward to seeing what other rabbits you will pull out of the hat on next Friday's course"

"..thank you for putting me in touch with Joy.  I attended one of her classes about free motion quilting and found it very useful. Also she helped me sort a problem out regarding my machine."

"Very informative, experienced, inspirational teacher who is 'user friendly'..... really enjoyed it and learnt loads"                                          - Intro to P&Q

"Quilt in a Jar.  Really enjoyed producing mini quilt from random scraps"

"I have learned a number of different techniques during my attendance at Joy's classes. She is a patient and knowledgeable tutor and always helpful"

"I have enjoyed developing my piecing skills on the Road Home Quilt Block of the Month course. Receiving instructions each month instead of in one go made it much simpler to follow and less daunting than facing the whole quilt alone. I can't believe the finished quilt was made by me. Thank you Joy for excellent advice and tuition

"I have attended a range of different classes, from beginners classes onwards for several years. For each class, clear patterns and directions are provided. At the beginning of the class Joy gives general instructions to the whole group, and follows this up with individual tuition as and when required. The classes always have a friendly and supportive atmosphere"                                                                                J.O.

"New York Beauty. When having difficulty in assembling the blocks Joy was helpful in identifying where I was going wrong in a none judgemental way, thus enabling me to rectify the issue and ensuring that this was transferrable should the same problem occur in the future"

"Lots of new skills learnt on the bag making course - especially with Joy's adaptations to make the instructions more understandable!"

"I have quilted with Joy and Denise for a number of years & attended a variety of courses. Lessons are always well prepared with plenty of notice to acquire materials. There is a lovely atmosphere, where our differing levels are accepted but we are always encouraged & enabled to achieve the highest quality products.

There is a very positive vibe during the sessions and we learn a lot from each other too. While we can have a laugh about something, we are (nearly) always on task.

The teachers listen to students and act on feedback, often putting on courses at the request of students & to meet particular identified needs"

"Excellent course throughout. Would definitely recommend..."

"Many thanks for a stimulating and challenging course. I'm looking forward to the next. Much appreciated your help when stuck"

" Dear Joy

I love your shows on Sewing Quarter. You explain everything so well and so simply. I just wanted to say thank you so much for your demonstration of how to change a rotary cutter blade. I have been struggling for some time with my cutting and knew it was something to do with how the blade was in the cutter but couldn't work out what the proper way to put it together was. I've just reassembled my cutting blade and it's working like a dream. Thanks again.                                  L from NI

I've said it before but I'll say it again - all your courses should come with a wealth warning......  Really pleased with today's work, thanks.                                   - Christmas Workshop

" Thanks Joy for a super first day on new course! (Tea & Tiffin)  So typical of your excellent preparation, imaginative introduction and expert help for us all, on the day ... and so much fun - good for our well being"     M.D.
