On a recent class trip to the American Quilt Museum, we learnt that quilters used to get together for a frolic where they would sit and sew in companionship. These were social events for women, and during the day they might also cook while they quilted or bring food to the event.

 

Last year, in keeping with this tradition, I held a 3-day retreat which everyone enjoyed immensely – especially the extended sewing hours. This year I will be hosting another retreat where you can bring your own projects to work on. Light refreshments will be provided each day as well as a buffet lunch.

 

You can expect a guest speaker, a day trip to include a fabric shop, opportunity to try out the Bernina Q16 and more. There will be plenty of time to sew your own project as well as take part in a challenge project
