The Farmer’s Wife Homestead Medallion Quilt book by Laurie Aaron Hird is included when you join this course.  This medallion style quilt is made from a central 18th block and a combination of 6’’ and 8’’ blocks.  The full quilt is 94’’ x 110’’ but there are options to make a smaller version if you prefer. 

 

Using a combination of traditional pieced, foundation pieced blocks and templates, this block of the month programme will provide an opportunity to challenge yourself.  Reading the story of Ada Melville Shaw as you stitch each month will give you a glimpse of her homestead life and help you to understand the inspiration behind the design.

 

As the blocks are small scale it is an ideal project for using your stash, or for that bit of extra glamour, why not splash out on one of the new fabric ranges from Liberty?  I like the Wiltshire Shadow and Winterbourne collections!
